Their solution? Why Symbian^4, of course. What you see here are a couple “first vision” video preview of the still-in-Development Symbian^4 UI that Nokia hopes will compete with the iPhone. If this was some years ago, we’d all be future opportunities for Nokia Symbian. But not if we are not.

The Finnish manufacturer is still without rival in the mobile space, what with their 45% + market share of global mobile phones, but they are losing market share on a quarterly basis. Part of the problem is the lack of a Nokia smartphone OS capable of slugging it out with a finger-friendly offerings of the iPhone, Android and webOS. Symbian4 is supposed to change all that.

While Symbian^3 is on the way to market in the short term, Symbian4 will succeed to the platform as a user interface complete rebuild. The future of Nokia, and will lead the next generation of touchscreen phones from Nokia, so it is very important that it is up to.

So the question is – Symbian^4 doses have what it takes to make a difference? Take a look at the videos and let us know what you think
